YMCA

I was listening to a radio program about the YMCA. And how the YMCA has kind of abandoned its C. Meaning it has left the Christian aspect of its mission behind. But apparently there is a push to bring that aspect of the Young Men's Christian Association back. Although it has not gained full recongnition nationally some regional branches are attempting to get back to the basics of what the YMCA was found on. In the program though one of the directors from California made the comment that if they started putting Christian things back in the YMCA it would make him feel excluded. This got me thinking. (always trouble). Is that not one of the things we are supposed to do as Christians. To make people see something in us that they are missing. In a way make them feel as if they have been left out of some awesome secret. And then part of the good news is that all are invited to join. That it is an open invitation. Is it not supposed to be our different lifestyle that sets us apart and gets people asking the question, what have they got that I don't? Peter talks about this when he says " have a ready defense for the hope that is within you". Maybe the problem is that we are not living in a manner that is different. Maybe we are not living a life that makes people want to have what we have. And friends that is sad. Because what we have is the single greatest gift in the world. We have the grace of God. So does your life reflect something different? Do your actions make other feel as if they are missing something? They should.
